Scholarships & Aid

Scholarships & Aid

FTC Northern is committed to making quality education accessible and affordable. We award generous institutional scholarships and need-based aid to qualified students who demonstrate academic achievement and motivation to succeed.

All scholarship and aid amounts listed below are annual awards for students enrolled full-time.

Competitive Scholarship Opportunities

We believe the Mid-Hudson region is home to some of the brightest minds, and these competitive scholarships are our way of investing in our neighbors and ensuring that local students can pursue their educational dreams without leaving the community they love. Whether you’re seeking a full-tuition award or need help matching an offer from another institution, we’re here to make staying local an opportunity, not a compromise.

These two exclusive scholarship programs are highly competitive and require early application.

Merit-Based Scholarships

Our merit-based scholarships recognize and reward academic excellence. Awards are based on your demonstrated academic performance and automatically considered when you apply for admission.

Need-Based Aid

In addition to merit-based scholarships, FTC Northern provides institutional need-based aid for students who demonstrate financial hardship. This aid is applied directly to tuition and is awarded competitively based on demonstrated financial need and fund availability.

How it works: Need-based aid is calculated as a percentage reduction on your tuition after merit scholarships have been applied. The amount depends on your family’s annual household income and assets.

% Off Tuition after Scholarship
Annual Household Income less than $75,000
Asset (excluding primary residence*) below $75,000
Up to 15%
Annual Household Income between $75,001 – $125,000
Asset (excluding primary residence*) between $75,001 and $150,000
Up to 10%
Annual Household Income above $125,001
Asset (excluding primary residence*) above $150,001
0%

* Note on primary residence: Assets exclude your primary residence if its market value is below $400,000. For primary residences valued above $400,000, we may use the next lower need tier. If your family’s income and assets fall into different tiers (and differ by only one level), we generally use the higher need tier.
